about

Robertson Davies wrote that no heart is complete without a lost love. Robin Woywitka & the Super 92 believe that no band is complete without a song about a lost love. "Girl From St. Lina" features the story of two people who share an affection that can never flourish due to bad timing and odd circumstances.

This is the first single from the upcoming new album from Robin Woywitka & the Super 92. Keep your ears peeled for this new release in 2014!

lyrics

Girl From St. Lina

We met long ago, a passing in a hall
You were in love with a bass player
I may have been married
But I can’t quite recall

Long hair and dark eyes
Someone you don’t want to forget
Until years pass by
And you actually kind of do forget

Girl from St. Lina, I can’t deny it
You’re in my heart
Girl from St. Lina, you got something inside you
And I’m figuring out where to start

Later on, sitting in a bar
Counting roaches on the till
You showed up a little early
And I felt the thrill

A little conversation and catching up
As the crowd it did arrive
The some reverie, a little feel-up
And an evening that just died

Girl from St. Lina, I can’t deny it
You’re in my heart
Girl from St. Lina, you got something inside you
And I’m figuring out where to start

I stayed put and you went north
It all just rolled along
You took up with a farmer
And I got a love of my own

But still when I see you
Something just rips
I want to steal your heart
Lay you down and kiss you on the lips

Girl from St. Lina, I can’t deny it
You’re in my heart
Girl from St. Lina, you got something inside you
And I’m figuring out where to start

about

The Super 92 Edmonton, Alberta

The Super 92 were formed when Robin Woywitka returned to Edmonton from recording The Impossible Address record in Mississippi. Cousins Craig Kowalchuk (guitar, lap steel, harmonica) and Greg Kolodychuk (bass) bring an inimitable feel that is bred in the bone. Along with drummer Alex Jumpsen’s sturdy and inventive beats, the Super 92 is the perfect medium for Woywitka’s compositions. ... more
